The In | Met Gala 2015 by guest blogger Josh

By now, we all know that photos don't do a gown justice so how can we really judge the Met Gala looks, right? Well, to bring you all the scoop we turned to our blogger friend Josh for his thoughts on all the Celebs he encountered at the Michael Kors Met Gala After Party. Keep reading for his first-hand account of the good, the bad, and the freakshow!

Monday evenings Met Gala in New York City is one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year. An opportunity for designers to show off their muses (half of Hollywood) who act as walking billboards for their latest designs.

Here is my take on a few of the best and worst looks of the night.

Special Highlights

Peter Dundas with Joan Smalls & Kim K: all wearing Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli

Peter made his Cavalli design début. The aesthetic is not a far cry from Pucci and he definitely did not step out of his comfort zone with the bold colors, prints and cut outs, but exciting to see his take on Cavalli none the less.

Alessandro Michele & Georgia May Jagger: both wearing custom Gucci

The man to deliver one of the most exciting and talked about collections at the recent Fall shows in Milan made one of his first public appearances as the new head of Gucci. Was hoping for something as exciting as the show, but it was appropriate for the evening.

Freakshows (No, you wont find SJP on this list)

Miley Cyrus: wearing Alexander Wang

The tryhard of all tryhards. Definitely my least favorite moment of the night.

Grimes: wearing Louis Vuitton

It pains me to put my dear Grimes on this list, but when you have Nicolas Ghesquière kitting you out, I expect a much better look. She looks like a beauty school drop out, hope there is extra wig glue in that trunk.

Biggest Snoozefest

Beyonce: wearing Givenchy

I nearly fell asleep. Riccardo Tisci definitely pressed the snooze button on this one. Not only has this dress now been done in a million different variations by the designer, but I think Bey has worn this a million times. And a high pony for a fashion event? Groundbreaking….

Julianne Moore: wearing Givenchy

Diane Kruger: wearing Chanel Couture

Perfection in a pant

Anne Hathaway: wearing Ralph Lauren

This is such a flattering dress, she looks stunning. Not everyone agrees but haters gonna hate.

Karen Elson: wearing Dolce & Gabbana

No words

Emily Blunt: wearing Prada

Could wear a paper bag and would be a knockout

Honorable Mentions

Poppy Delevingne: wearing Marchesa

Poppy wearing a dress made of tulle poppies; this is an amazing fashion moment.

FKA Twigs: wearing Christopher Kane

FKA, Im dreaming of you as my lover in this dress, yesss

Allison Williams: wearing Giambattista Valli Couture

Looking beautiful as always in an always beautiful Valli gown

My favorite look from Josh's line up? Poppy Delevingne: wearing Marchesa...lets face it, the girl looks stunning in that deep merlot. She managed to reel in the crazy yet still keep it fun, classy, and theme appropriate. Can't wait to see what next year brings!
